Nevada

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Citizen Review Board (1997) is Nevada's only civilian police oversight body and the functional county-level sheriff oversight board — LVMPD is a consolidated city-county agency in Clark County, and the elected Clark County Sheriff heads the department and runs the county jail. Outside Clark, Washoe County (Reno) has only internal review and no external civilian body exists.

State context

Nevada Revised Statutes § 289.387 authorizes — but does not mandate — local advisory review boards. Clark County is the only Nevada county to have created one with subpoena authority and civilian-majority composition. The DB also retains a placeholder row "Nevada Advisory Review Boards" at us/nv (subnational_1) from earlier seeding; the LVMPD CRB is the only operational instance.
