No civilian oversight body has recorded jurisdiction over the Scott Sheriff's Office. Virginia's Law Enforcement Civilian Oversight Body statute, Va. Code § 9.1-601, defines "law-enforcement officer" to exclude sheriffs and deputy sheriffs, so this office falls outside the one civilian oversight mechanism Virginia law provides.
